Must Listen: Bionik – ‘Helikopter’

Straight up, the upcoming album from Bionik is one of the things I’m most excited for in 2015.  This dude is a beast, with a long history of producing incredible hip hop tracks for the likes of Cee Lo, Too Short, Kool Keith, Ice-T, and more….he is finally delving into the world of Bass music.  His album, Sonik Boom, comes out March 10’th and is already up for pre-order on iTunes here, and you can immediately download the track from this vid while you’re over there.  This thing is gonna make waves son!!!

The video for the lead single, Helikopter, is straight bonkers.  To quote Bionik –

“Helikopter (feat. Griffen)’; is a combination of many of the genres that have inspired and driven my music. hip-hop, dancehall, reggae, and trap all co-mingle in a bubbling cauldron of molten EDM that fuels the party. The vocal sample, from Chicago artist Griffen, conveys my confusion at the state of the complex world that we live in.”

“The video, produced by Wylie Cable from Dome of Doom, is a bio-mechanical journey through an alien terrain. Flying machines assemble before your eyes and crawl from an extraterrestrial, primordial pond full of kaleidoscopic colors and shapes… feels like home.”
